Lyra's 'deep dark secret' comment confused Eadric, because it seemed like such an odd thing to say. He wasn't at all used to Lyra saying something, and him not knowing what she meant. He found it very unsettling. If anything, it just built up his resentment towards Liam even more. He and Lyra were supposed to be the one who had private jokes, not him.
Aeryn mentioned their dad, and Eadric focused on his breakfast. Talk of dads was never particularly welcome with him.
Lyra looked up at Liam, knowing what had happened to their dad, and wondering why Aeryn thought it a 'secret'. Their dad had been fighting on the side of the Order, he was head of Magical Law enforcement, and had been a good man. Their father, her's and Eadric's... he was something of a deep dark secret. A Death Eater, who had died fighting for Lord Voldemort. A Death Eater who had been the cause of Lyra being bitten by a Werewolf. Eadric had never forgiven him for that, and know he never could.
Liam clarified, and Eadric nodded. "I'm sorry," he said, slightly gruffly. Talk of emotions and sympathies, they weren't exactly Eadric's strong suit. "Our dad died too. But we weren't too upset about it."
Lyra knew what Eadric meant, but it was sure to come across as very cold to Liam and his sister. Eadric hadn't been very upset, but Lyra had. And Eadric had been upset for Lyra. But he wouldn't want to air out their private feelings in public, and the way he said it made it sound to Lyra like he was willing it to be true; maybe if he said it enough, she wouldn't hurt about it any more.
Lyra nodded, as though agreeing with Eadric. "He wasn't... its fine," she said, although that wasn't really how she felt. No matter what he had done, he was still her dad. "But I'm sorry about your dad," she said, looking now at Aeryn.

Aeryn, Sophie, & Bran When Eadric said their father had died in the war but they weren’t upset with it Aeryn’s eyes grew wide, but Liam understood. He knew their father wasn’t like his own. He’d fought for the other side. Their father could have been the one who killed his own, but he refused to entertain that idea for more than a few seconds. Liam nodded toward Eadric, and listened as Lyra spoke. Had she tried to say he wasn’t a good man? Liam could see from the look on her face that even if she said it she wouldn’t believe it. So he was glad she didn’t lie, no matter how brilliant she was at lying. He watched as Lyra turned her attention to Aeryn, and he offered her a smile of gratitude. The loss of their father hadn’t been easy on any of the siblings and he tried not to think about that day. Everything had been so simple. But he glanced down at Aeryn who grinned up at Lyra and shrugged lightly.
”It’s not your fault. But, thanks. I’m sorry about your dad too,” she said simply before biting into a muffin. But no sooner than she bit into a muffin did another muffin come flying and hit Aeryn in the back of the head. A third muffin came flying over and landed directly on Liam’s plate and he was already laughing lightly before he looked behind him and saw Sophie and Bran standing at a nearby table.
”There you are! We’ve been looking over the whole of Hogwarts for you,” Sophie sighed out pretending to be shocked as she and Bran approached. Bran had a wicked grin on his face and Aeryn picked up the muffin from the ground and threw it at him. He ducked and stuck his tongue out at her before finally looking at Liam with a grin.
”Oi just wait you little bug, I’m going to crush you!” Aeryn shouted, but she couldn’t keep her grin hidden.
Well this was just turning into one big Ward family reunion, wasn’t it? Liam turned back to Eadric and Lyra and grinned before gesturing toward Sophie and Bran.
”Lyra, Eadric,” he said with a chuckle, ”This is Sophie and Bran.”
Sophie grinned at Eadric as she pulled up a chair between Lyra and Liam. They probably weren’t supposed to move chairs, but… it was a unity breakfast, and they were all from different houses, mostly.
”Nice to meet you,” Bran said with a grin as he looked between Lyra and Liam. He’d seen them around a few times, but never really spoke to either of them.

& Eadric Eadric looked on in horror as two more little people descended on the table. Oh great. Now there were four of them. Eadric wasn't exactly a fan of large groups, and he never hung out with anyone younger than him. And this seemed to be quite a boisterous group. They started throwing food, and Eadric looked at Lyra, his thoughts written plain across his face; 'what the hell is going on?'
Lyra grinned at him, and put an arm around him giving him a squeeze, which only caused Eadric to frown slightly, sure she was patronising him. He ruffled her hair, and Lyra rolled her eyes before running her fingers through it, getting it back to respectable looking.
She, of course, knew that Liam had a lot of brothers and sisters, and so it wasn't such a surprise to her. And after already meeting Aeryn she had expected his other siblings to be in some way similar. It was slightly overwhelming, suddenly being introduced to the majority of Liam's family at once. Lyra wondered if they knew that she and Liam were together... well, sort of together. They hadn't really talked about it, actually. She assumed they were, kind of... she didn't go around kissing random boys, that was for sure, and Liam knew that.
"Hi," she said, slightly shyly, smiling at all of them, trying to remember names (she had known their names before now, but now that she was suddenly faced with all of them her memory seemed to be failing her). "Um... nice to meet you," she nudged Eadric, since by now that was apparently what they did when introduced to new people, and he said, "Yeah," giving them a quick smile, before looking back at Lyra clearly wondering if they could leave now.

Liam watched as Lyra greeted his siblings, but Eadric's face seem to grow more and more weary by the second. He wondered if maybe Eadric was actually terribly shy, or if he actually really couldn't stand people. And then he thought maybe Eadric only disliked his siblings because he disliked him, and that thought disheartened him slightly. Eadric no longer seemed to have any interest in breakfast, and Liam stared at his empty plate before his eyes glanced to Aeryn's plate, who was also empty. Sophie and Bran didn't seem all that hungry, as they weren't getting food, so Liam looked at the three of his siblings with a grin.
"Soeurs, Frère, il est temps d'aller. Nous avez causé assez d'ennuis pour un matin," he said and the three of them looked at him for a moment, grinning before they got up. He too rose from his chair look between Eadric and Lyra. He offered them both a smile of gratitude.
"This has been really great, but we should probably let the two of you eat in peace," he said with a light chuckle. He grinned toward Eadric, but then his eyes fell on Lyra and he was kind of at a loss for what to do. He wanted to scoop her up out of that chair and hug her and kiss her goodbye, but was that really appropriate, with Eadric and all of his siblings sitting right there? He thought not, but urge was still there. And while he settled for something a little less subtle than what he wanted to do, he knew she wouldn't be able to understand it.
He looked Lyra straight in the eye and smiled. "Au revoir, mon petite amie," he said with a smile.
"Aw," Sophie sighed out, and Aeryn scrunched her face in disgust. Bran stood there with a lazy raised brow and an unamused look. Liam smirked slightly before placing a quick kiss on Lyra's cheek and walking away as quickly as possible for fear Eadric may come running after him.
note;; translations - Sisters, brother, it's time to go. We've caused enough trouble for one morning.

Liam spoke in French, and Eadric frowned slightly, not enjoying not knowing what was going on. But then he made his meaning clear by standing up, and saying that it was high time they left them to their breakfast. Eadric privately agreed, although he was sure Lyra would have wanted to spend more time with Liam.
Then Liam said something else in French, this time just to Lyra, before bending down and giving her a kiss on the cheek. As chaste as it was, Eadric looked away, glaring at nothing in particular.
Lyra smiled as Liam kissed her on the cheek, wishing it could be more. She wished they were back to the night before, just the two of them outside in the grounds. She wished she could at least kiss him properly. Perhaps she'd find him later... she also wished she spoke French, because apart from 'goodbye' she had no idea what Liam had said.
Liam and his siblings hurried off, leaving Lyra with a sullen Eadric. He didn't like not knowing what Liam had said either, it seemed. "I'm going to have to learn French," he said, stabbing a sausage, and Lyra laughed. Before long the two of them finished their breakfast, and headed back to the castle, not speaking much. Eadric was still in a bad mood, and Lyra was wondering where she could find Liam later that day...
