( HISTORY ) : Madison was adopted at age three by a loving father, Jackson Gibbs. He never married and never had any children of his own, so Madison was a completely new experience for him. He was relatively unsure of how to raise a child, so instead of giving her a normal upbringing, she was often in the middle of adult conversations and treated mostly like an adult from the start of her life. When she was seven years old, she started showing signs of magical ability, much to her father’s surprise. He hadn’t known when he had adopted her that she was going to end up being of magical descent.

The day that she turned nine years old, her father had to go away on business and left her with his mother for about a month. When he finally came back, he wasn’t the same. Her father had been attacked by Death Eaters and tortured beyond belief. He was bruised and battered and had a long scar that ran the length of his face. He became rather cold and unfeeling when it came to Maddi, trying his best to step out of her life as quietly as possible, trying to convince her that he wasn’t fit to be her father. He disappeared for months at a time, leaving Maddi to fend for herself at her adoptive grandmother’s house.

When she was 11, it was almost a relief for her to go to Hogwarts. She needed to get away from her father, who was beginning to scare her with his antics. She was immediately sorted into Gryffindor without hesitation, which was a bit of a surprise to her. She had originally thought that she would have been in Slytherin like her father. However, it must have been her bravery that put her over the edge and led her to become the Lioness that she was always meant to be.

Her first year at Hogwarts went smoothly and Maddi found herself impossibly crushing on Harry Potter. He was such an interesting character. But she soon gave up hope that something would ever happen between them and let her mind focus on her school work. She made a lot of friends her first year, like Adrienne Lena, whom she has kept in close contact with as her time went on.

By the time that her seventh year had rolled around, she received a letter from her father telling her how the war had taken a dangerous turn. It also stated that he was taking her out of Hogwarts for the year for her safety. Maddi was furious and refused to go, claiming that she was just as strong as he was. This caused a rift between the pair, and Mr. Gibbs eventually had to pull her away from school by force. He kept her locked in her room for a couple of weeks, but Maddi managed to get letters out to her friends at school while she was locked away to tell them what had happened with her Father. She hated being away from them and knowing that she wasn’t fighting to stop the Dark Lord.

The battles ended, the Dark Lord defeated, and now Madison Gibbs is ready to return to Hogwarts. She’s bruised and battered and feels a little broken ever since her father turned on her, but she’s trying to fight her way out of it...she’s gripping tightly to any sense of reality she has, which means she’s heavily depending on her friends for their constant support in this hard time. But slowly and surely, she's regaining who she used to be - the bubbly and enthusiastic brave Madison Gibbs...Gryffindor and Strong.
