Supposed Death Eaters Spotted West of Hogsmeade
A small group of suspected Death Eaters were spotted by locals near by the wizarding village of Hogsmeade.
The supposed 'Death Eaters' consisted of a group of about 5 witches and wizards. The idenity of these induviduals is still unknown. Eye-witnesses claim the group "kept to themselves, and were very shifty looking." Millicent McDonald, the owner of the local pub, was who brought the suspicious group to the Ministry's attention; your Underground reporter has heard from a source who was in the pub at the time, that McDonald seemed to recognize one of the individuals from a Prophet article, bringing the publics attention to people who were wanted for questioning. One of those speculated to be a part of the group was Savannah Grayson, Death Eater still at large. However whether or not these individuals were in fact the suspected Death Eaters in question remains unconfirmed. Questions are being raised as to what suspected Death Eaters were doing so close to Hogwarts, the site of the battle which saw an end to Lord Voldemort.
[/blockquote] Death Eater Round-Up Losing Momentum Less and less Death Eaters are being caught, says Auror offi ce insider.
Sources inside the Ministry say that although the initial attempts to round up Death Eaters were wildly successful (with more Death Eaters being caught in quick succession than ever before), things seemed to have slowed down significantly; less and less Death Eaters are being caught. “Of course,” says a Ministry official “this is mostly because most of the Death Eaters have already been caught.” However Many of Lord Voldemort’s more prolific Death Eaters have yet to be brought into custody.
[/blockquote] Ministry in Disarray
The Ministry of Magic is still without an official Minister
Since the fall of Lord Voldemort, which subsequently removed Death Eaters from the Ministry of Magic, the Ministry has been operating without a functioning Minister. Many feel that this is an outrage, and the time for an election is long overdue, while others are sympathetic with what the Ministry has been doing over the past four months, which has subsequently prevented the organization of an official election. The forerunner for the Minster position is Kingsley Shaklebolt, who's previous official position was guarding the Muggle Primeminister. However, Shaklebolt's loyalty lay with an orginisation know as the Order of the Phoenix, an anti-Voldemort movement founded by the late Albus Dumbledore (Order of Merlin, First Class). The 'Order' stood behind Harry Potter as he sought to topple the Dark Lord. Many think that Shacklebolt is a perfect candidate for the position.
[/blockquote] A Harry Potter book on the Horizon?
Since his spectacular defeat o f the dark wizard Voldemort, w itches and wizards all over th e country are eagerly anticipa ting the 'Boy Who Lived's tale.
Rumors have been flying regarding exactly what lead Harry Potter to being the man who finally defeated Lord Voldemort, once and for good. Rita Skeeter, former Daily Prophet writer, has already released a book about the 'Chosen One', however Skeeter- largely due to her fickle public opinion- has been widely discredited. The public are instead waiting for a book penned by Potter himself. Will we soon have a Harry Potter 'tell all'? Keep reading your Underground newspaper to find out.
[/blockquote] Hogwarts News
Students have not been back at Hogwarts for long, but as alw ays there is a lot of student gossip (sorry - news) to report!
It seems Miss Hermione Granger, resident Head Girl, and a Mr Ronald Weasley, are not quite as cosy as previously expected to be; fellow Gryffindors say that the two are rarely (if ever) seen together, and that Mr Weasley has seemed very off colour. A source (who shall, as always, remain unnamed) told your Underground reporter that they saw Ginny Weasley (younger sister to Ron) locking the distressed older boy in a classroom with the Head Girl herself. Trying to get them to talk it out, little Weasley? Worth a try, this reporter thinks.
And speaking of the youngest Weasley, everyone wants to know the current status of her relationship with 'the Boy who Lived'. The two have been seen together, but have yet to publicly acknowledge coupledom. Could there be trouble in perfect Potter land? (Note from Quidditch Correspondent - surely there are more important things we could be talking about? Like Quidditch?)
Rebel without a cause Archer Grayson (Slytherin Keeper and Quidditch captain) was seen engaging in a very intense exchange with Gryffindor Chaser Sive Parry, alone on the Quidditch Pitch. Our anonymous source didn't think sticking around to watch was a very safe option, but says that the two were getting very close, and did not seem to be discussing Quidditch tips. Sparks were flying - and not the good kind. Many were surprised to see Grayson return to Hogwarts for his 7th year, and the Slytherin is notorious for a bad temperament, but if we had to we'd put our money on Parry; the girl can more than take care of herself, as she demonstrated by showing off her Death-Eater-destroying chops during the battle in May - watch out, Grayson!
The Slytherins know how to party! Reports of a rave in the Slytherin Common Room have reached this reporters ears. No news yet on any illicit activities that may (or may not) have been taken place. Careful Slythies, McGonnagall doesn't look as though she's messing around this year. Party hard, but party secretly. Also, don't drink and spell, and friends don't let friends fly drunk.
In other Slytherin news, the self-proclaimed Slytherin Princesses - The Greengrass sisters - seem to be making the spotlight yet again. Astoria Greengrass was seen being brought back to earth with a bump as she fell while scaling the castle walls - yes reader, you read that right. She was also reported to have smashed all the mirrors in the Slytherin Common room in a fit of rage - or what she passed off as a fight with another girl. We sincerely hope that Miss Greengrass has no more serious injuries than a bruised ego. There have been reports of Daphne Greengrass’ extracurricular activities at an all time high this year. She was recently reported to have been seen snogging an anonymous Slytherin in the locker room. Sources speculate that her performance on the field will be just as good, if not better, than her performance in the locker room.

Quidditch
The Quidditch season has yet to start, but the teams are shaping up nicely. Slytherin captain Archer Grayson has put together a strong offensive side, with Draco Malfoy returning as Seeker, Daphne Greengrass heading up the Chasers, and Elliot Jameson and Theodore Nott taking up the roles as Beaters. Everyone is looking forward to the first match of the season, in which Slytherin will take on Gryffindor. The one to watch in this match is of course Mr Harry Potter, who returns to take up his Seeker position, and his position as Gryffindor Quidditch Captain. Mr Potter is arguably the best Seeker Hogwarts has ever seen, making Gryffindor a favourite to win. The rest of the Gryffindor team is made up of Ron 'King' Weasley, the Keeper, and a strong team of Chasers, Ginny Weasley, Sive Parry and Stephanie McCarthy. The first match between Gryffindor and Slytherin will take place on Friday the 3rd of August
