Susan sighed as she started to eat lunch. She couldn't believe how much homework she had been getting, it was ridiculous. She was surprised with how much time she was spending on homework and studying it. She knew it would help her in the end but Merlin was is morning her. She needed something to lively up her life.
The idea of doing a party came into her mind. That is just what she needed. She was sure that's what everyone needed. Keeping it under control would be the only catch. Everything else was easy to do. She just need to find people to come.

Luna Lovegood was not a particularly big fan of lunchtime. There was just something so destructive about a meal that interrupted the middle of the day. Not that she had been doing anything too terribly productive for it’s entity, but it was the principle. The entire world was built on principle, she supposed. And so, lost in her own traitorous thoughts about the pros and cons of a meal that broke up the hours of daylight she had left, it was no surprise that she accidentally sat down at the Hufflepuff table and began eating off of the first plate that crossed her path - a particularly unappetizing bowl of dragon balls it was for lunch today.
Of course things like this always happened to Luna, and she often could care less about where she sat during dining hours. More often than not, people around her would politely inform her that she was sitting in the wrong spot and point her in the direction of the Ravenclaw table to which she belonged. She would then proceed to tell them that she had no intention of sitting anywhere but where she was right now and then quietly finish her lunch. That was the flaw with not having many friends; Luna often found herself the topic of ridicule amongst the Great Hall. But it seemed as if today, no one was going to say anything to her, so she just continued on eating.
Her eyes scanned the Hufflepuff table until she lay eyes on someone familiar, “Oh hello, Susan.” She said and offered the girl a Dragon Ball that was in her bowl. She was all for sharing, especially when they tasted good, “Would you care for a dragon ball? They don’t taste nearly as bad as they smell.” She offered the Hufflepuff Prefect a smile and moved the bowl forward a bit more so that Susan would more than likely have no choice but to eat one, "They're also supposed to ward off unwanted Knittles." Susan looked over when she heard her name. She smiled as she saw Luna. She had always treated the girl with kindness. She stared at the Dragon Ball. She wasn’t sure what she thought of it. It was different all right, she knew that she was still going to end up eating if she wanted to or not. It wouldn’t be impolite not to.
“Why thank you, Luna,” said Susan taking one of the Dragon Balls and put it on her plate. She would never turn down anything when it was offered; she was taught it was rude to turn things that were offered to you.
“How was your summer?” she asked with a smile. She poked the Dragon Ball with her fork. She put the Dragon Ball in mouth. She didn’t mind them despite of her pet peeve of eating her own cooking. She often would sneak a peek into the kitchen to see how the house elves made the food.

Luna smiled brightly when the girl took the Dragon ball that she had offered her. With her dreamy smile still intact, she plucked one from the bowl herself before putting it down, ”You’re welcome. Anything to keep the pesky Knittles at bay. I’ll have you know we got a nasty infestation in the turnip garden over the holiday-” Then she placed it in her mouth and began chewing, her eyes still glimmering with a smile as she ate, ”Took us ages to get them all out.”
”How was your summer?
She watched Susan poking around at her plate for a while before answering, her voice just as day-dreamy as always, ”My summer was lovely thanks.” She said and turned her chin up so that she could see the ceiling. It looked as if it was going to rain if she wasn’t mistaken. Then again, she could have been completely wrong, ”Good to have dad back.” Luna said cheerfully, turning her attention back down to the girl in front of her. It was nice to have pleasant acquaintances. And Susan Bones was definitely one of them in Luna’s book. She had been one of those people that had always been kind to Luna, despite the rumors that floated about about her being a little off her rocker. Not to mention she was incredibly polite. For that, Luna was incredibly grateful, although, she didn’t really show it in the way that normal people did. Instead she just smiled...she smiled and she ate, ”The Quibbler has taken off ever since Harry put his faith in us.” She said with another wide grin. She had always liked Harry Potter. Always liked him and always trusted him. He was a good egg, The Chosen One was.
”How was yours?” She returned, her eyes glistening with a small hint of a knowing secret, ”I trust you didn’t spend the entire time with your head in books?” She tried her hand at joking, although, she now had quite a serious look on her face. [/blockquote]

Susan nodded with Luna's every word. She still had no idea what Knittles were but that didn't distract her from listening to the conversation. She would have asked but she didn't want to sound mean or rude so she didn't. The smile across Luna's face made Susan smile. She liked making other's smile more then smiling herself.
She wasn't sure but she swore it was getting a bit drafty in the Great Hall. She shrugged it off given the fact of how old Hogwarts was and the damage the room had taken last year. They had cleaned up Hogwarts quite nicely but some rooms were a bit more drafty now. The Hufflepuff common room and dorms now had a tendency to have dust and dirt fall from the ceiling at night, nearly suffocating anyone who had their mouth open when sleeping.
She was glad to hear that Luna's summer had been good. She didn't ready much of the Quibbler but was still glad to hear that it was doing good. Small business like the Quibbler had suffered so much during the war, it was good to know that someone was doing good. That's one thing she wanted to change when she finally graduated and gets a job in the Ministry, small business needed more support.
"Mine was pretty good. I'm living on my own now, well, my auntie's old flat to be precise. I had always loved the place," she said with a smile. She couldn't say enough good things about it to people, though her friends thought it was just her not wanting to let go of the fact her Auntie Amelia was dead, the truth was it was her parents who weren't accepting. She just reacted differently to losing people then most. "Actually, no. I didn't have much time since I picked up a muggle summer job, a waitress job in a little cafe not to far from where I live." she added, not noticing it had been a joke.
"How is it going for you? I mean being back at Hogwarts after all that happen last year," she asked gently. She had found it was best to use a gentle tone when asking that question. Some people needed it to be asked in a softer tone then others. She honestly believed that Hogwarts needed a consoling system like muggle schools had. Some people just weren’t adjust well and were suffering with post traumatic distress disorder and depression to name a few of the issues students were having.
