Neville Longbottom has a unique personality. He is a highly compassionate the rest of the time and a loving person. He views all life as sacred and always wants to help anybody that needs his help. He is incredibly patient, understanding and non-judgmental of anyone. Due to the experiences he has had he is very open minded however that does not mean he changes his mind easily. He simply knows that people will do whatever it is in their nature to do and that it is useless to try and force them to be anything other than themselves. However, this doesn't stop him from trying his best to get others to be the best people they can be.

He doesn’t just go around and be all trusting with everyone he meets. He takes time to get to know the people who are now his friends. Most people would say that Neville’s personality is kind of complicated. He is very sweet and charming. He didn’t use to stand up for himself but after a while he learned to stand up for himself. He is always too hard on himself. He over-thinks things before he acts. He is fiercely protective of everyone he cares about though that isn’t much. He loves to read and write. He cares for people. He loves music. He is constantly reading in his spare time.

( HISTORY ) :
Neville Frank Longbottom was born on July 31st to the parents of Alice and Frank Longbottom. Growing up Neville was an only child. A year later on October 31st the darkest wizard in history Lord Voldermort killed James and Lily Potter but lost his powers when he tried to kill young Harry Potter. Neville was only a year old at this time. He couldn’t really remember much from this time. Growing up he really cared about his family. He spent a lot of time around his dad. It all came crashing down though when he was seven. Bellatrix Lestrange tortured his parents into insanity. They had to be held in St. Mungos while Neville lived with his grandmother. While living with his grandmother he still hadn’t shown any magical ability. His whole family kept trying to make it come out of him. He finally showed it at the age of eight when his great uncle held him out of the highest window in his grandmother’s house by his ankles. He was accidentlly dropped and he bounced down the driveway and didn’t have a scratch on him. His grandmother yelled at his great uncle for a long time after that, but everyone was excited that he had finally showed some magical ability.

When he turned eleven he received his Hogwarts letter. Everyone was so proud of him. He just wished he could share this with his mother and father. The train ride to Hogwarts was smooth sailing for him until he lost his toad Trevor. A girl with bushy brown hair named Hermione Granger helped him look for his toad. They eventually found him but after the boat ride over the lake he lost his toad again. He found his toad again though before going into the sorting hat ceremony. Neville was sorted into Gryffindor house like most of his family was. Neville came from a pureblood family though that didn’t matter to some people. Sometimes he would forget things and he wasn’t always the best in class well except in Herbology. During his first year Draco Malfoy and his gooneys picked on him. Neville received a remembrale from his grandmother to help him remember that he had forgotten things to make his life easier. During his first flying lesson with the other first years he had an accident and fell off his broom. He was taken to the hospital wing and he had a broken wrist. Close to Christmas Draco Malfoy used the Leg Lock Curse on him. Harry, Ron, and Hermione told him he should stand up for himself more. Towards the end of the year Neville stood up to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. They were trying to sneak out and he didn’t want Gryffindor to be in trouble again. Hermione used the Body Bind Curse on him. At the house point ceremony the points ended up tied between Gryffindor and Slytherin thanks to Harry, Ron, Hermioine, but Neville helped Gryffindor win the House Cup with his five points that put them in the lead. It was the best moment in his life as everyone was also congratulating him. He had a good summer and couldn’t wait to be back at Hogwarts.

Second year came along and things were going smoothly till Mrs. Norris was petrified. It was scary and Neville didn’t know who had done it. Things were getting crazy as more people kept getting petrified and everyone thought Harry was doing it. He never thought that for a minute though. Soon though it was all over as Harry defeated whoever it was in the chamber. Neville was glad as he wanted normal Hogwarts years and the first two weren’t. Third year the dementors had joined them at the school while they were trying to re-catch Sirius Black. Neville was scared as he heard all the news and rumors about Sirius Black. He didn’t want anyone getting hurt. Finally though the year was over and he went back home for the summer. Soon he was back for his fourth year and they had something amazing happen. Hogwarts hosted the Triwizard Tournament. Somehow Harry Potter’s name came out of the goblet and instead of three champions there were four. Neville was scared for Harry in the first task because of the dragon he had to get past. Neville helped Harry in the second task by giving him gilleyweed to help him breathe under water. Neville went to the Yule Ball with Ginny Weasley. Soon the third task came and Neville waited with everyone as they all waited to see who would come out as the champion. Soon everyone was out except Harry and Cedric. None of the two that had came out were the champion though. When Harry and Cedric finally came back Cedric was dead and Harry was shouting that Voldermort was back. At the end of the term they had a memorial for Cedric Diggory and Dumbledore told everyone that Voldermort killed Cedric and that he was back.

Neville had gone home for the summer. He went back to Hogwarts for his fifth year. Things were very different that year. They got a new DADA teacher like always but this one was a bit crazy. Her name was Deloris Umbridge. She wouldn’t teach them any magic. Harry started a group called Dumbledore’s Army. Neville joined of course and after several sessions and hiding it from the crazy lady Umbridge he finally learned how to disarm someone. Neville was learning a lot but soon they got found out. Umbridge made them write sentences with their own blood. It hurt and Neville hated it but he kept practicing. Soon though they had their O.W.L’s and they were interrupted by Fred and George with their whole fireworks and leaving on their brooms. After a while him, Luna, Ginny, Ron, Hermione, and Harry went to the Ministry of Magic to save Sirius Black, but soon found out that he wasn’t there and that it was a trap. They fought a bunch of death eaters and later order members came to their rescue. At that battle Sirius Black died and the minister and most of the ministry workers saw Voldermort there and finally believed Harry and Dumbledore. He went home for the summer and came back for his sixth year at Hogwarts. Everything was going fine until Dumbledore was killed. That was a very dark day for everyone. He went home for summer and that was when everything changed.

Neville went back to school for his final year at Hogwarts. Snape was the headmaster there and Hogwarts and the ministry and the world was controlled by Voldermort and his death eaters. It was a crazy and dangerous time. Neville and Ginny kept Dumbledore’s Army alive while Harry, Ron, and Hermione were off finding Horcruxes. They also caused a lot of trouble for Snape and the other death eater professors. At the end of the year though there was a huge battle. Neville fought and many people died that day, but the succeeded. Voldermort was defeated.

Now the battle is over and everyone is trying to rebuilding. Neville and his yearmates are back at Hogwarts to finish up their final year at Hogwarts. Neville can't wait for what is in store for the new year. A year without worrying about what is around the corner. A fresh start.

Neville looked around his new apartment and sighed. He ran a hand through his hair as he looked at the almost empty apartment. He had just gotten it so he knew he needed to furnish it soon. He sighed and sipped the drink he had in his hand. He looked around some more and felt he needed to get out of the house for a little while. He finished his drink then threw it into the trash can. He left his apartment making sure the door was locked then left hands in his pockets. He looked up and down the busy street of a small town near London. Neville could only afford an apartment right now but later he would buy himself a house out in the country.

He walked down the busy street passing many muggles. He said hey to a few that lived in the apartment building where he did. He continued walking down the street. He made it to the leaky cauldron where he knew a lot of people he knew at Hogwarts would be. He walked in and saw Harry Potter. He said a quick hello and they chatted for a while catching up. Later he found himself a table and ordered himself something to drink and to eat. He ate his lunch in peace knowing he would need to buy groceries soon and quit eating out so much.

When he finished eating he sat there a little while longer drinking his drink. He looked around the room wondering if anyone he knew would be there. He had to go to Diagon Alley later and shop a little. Oh the wonders of being on your own he thought to himself. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He also had to visit his grams later today. He was going to come over and have dinner with her and some of the family. Tomorrow he planned on yet another visit to St. Mungos to see his parents. He sighed as he took another sip of his drink.
