Vesper sat with her back against the wall in Zonko’s, her eyes scanning the shelf that was in front of her. She didn’t have much occasion to come to Hogsmeade, but this week had seemed like it needed a necessary excursion. It was the first week of the September term, and she was already feeling the strain.
Ves never thought that teaching a bunch of teenagers could be so...difficult. It was as if everyday she was fighting for her right to speak in her own classroom. They were loud, they were proud, and they thought that they had more important things to do than listen to some new teacher who had just gotten her footing at Hogwarts. She wasn’t Charity Burbage, that much was for certain. Charity had a way about her...she could command attention when she wanted to while still being the most laid back woman that Vesper had ever known. In many ways, she was Of course, Minerva had tried to warn her. Everyone had. Muggle Studies was about to become wildly more popular with the students...but there would still be some that would never see it as a worth-while subject. There would always be those students that would keep her on the edge of her seat. Students like Theodore Nott, Archer Grayson, Daphne Greengrass, Vivian Blackwell, and-
She paused, realizing that the common thread that strung all of them together was the fact that they were Slytherins. She bit down on her lip as her fingers ran over the shelving until she found a small pacakge of exploding droobles. That would do nicely in her office. She loved giving her students a little bit of a jolt in the mornings. It helped to keep them energized and awake for class.
Quickly, she paid for her treasures and then heading out into the cool Septemper afternoon. She was thankful that she was out and about today. So thankful for a day off from her hectic work week. She tucked her scarf tightly around her neck and glanced around. The street was relatively crowded...she could see couples ducking in and out of a few stores around the corner. A couple of adults who lived in town. And some younger people that she assumed to be students. It wasn’t a Hogsmeade weekend, was it? Surely she would have known if that was the case.
She took a step forward and then slipped on a pile of leaves that had accumulated in front of the doorway. Down Vesper Eton went, falling on her behind, her glasses flying off of her face and landing in a pile a few feet away from her. The shock of the impact was enough to make her forget all about her glasses and she clambored to her feet as quickly as she could manage, ”How embarrassing...”
She muttered to herself as she brushed tendrils of her hair away from her face. ”No matter,” she trudged forward into the street, starting a brisk pace before realizing that her glasses must have fallen somewhere amongst the leaves in front of Zonkos. She headed back in that direction, but as she turned, she nearly collided with someone...[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Sometimes things just didn't go well. Other times they went so well that he could stand the fact that he had actually accomplished the feat. Takuya Sakane was one of the greatest Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher the school had, mainly because of his approach. Samurai bushido. That is how he instructed them. Even the most defiant of the Slytherins were awed by the sheer discipline that the Japanese-bred man used. Today was different, mainly because Takuya had traded his wand for his katana. For the most part, he was showing off his skills to some fifth year girls who squealed all amongst themselves. His katana sliced cleanly through a thick stalk of bamboo, and it thudded to the ground. The group that had gathered around applauded, seeing his "samurai" skills in action did seem to be a unique treat. Then he had sheathed his sword to show some basic judo. Of course they ate it up. They always did. After some time he got frustrated and decided the show was over. Despite the fact that he enjoyed the audience, he needed a break. Being a man who frequently enjoyed laughing and general chicanery, he began his walk towards Zonko's. Despite the fact that he drew much attention from his traditional yukata being worn alongside a sword and his longer hair tied back in a low ponytail, he ignored the stares. Some could say it egged Takuya on. Then he wasn't quite aware of himself and walked right into someone who was certainly familiar to him. Boy, did he feel embarassed. "Vesper," He breathed, with a smile. "That makes two of us not paying attention, neh?" Well that was an awkward way to start a conversation, He thought, mentally slapping himself. Even after all these years, Takuya was awful with girls. Especially pretty ones like her. His accent would get heavier and his face would get red and then he'd get so frustrated with himself he'd fall silent, adding to his stoic demeanor at times. He smiled again, trying to break the ice without being too much of an idiot.

It took Vesper a moment to realize that she was standing in front of Takuya Sakane, the DADA professor. She stood there, staring him up and down, her lips turned up in slight bemused confusion. For one, he looked so much...different than he did at Hogwarts. Ves supposed that she had never really put much thought into what the man wore, but right now, it was all that she could think about. There was such a cultural difference. It reminded her of the time that she had spent in East Asia right before the war had broken out. She had learned so many interesting factoids about the culture that surrounded Takuya’s world. She realized that she was staring and had yet to answer his quip about almost running into one another.
Ves laughed lightly and waved it off with an over exaggerated wave of her hand, ”You know me-” She smiled even brighter, ”Head always in the clouds.” It was true; she spent most of her time day dreaming and not paying attention to the world around her. Life was often much more entertaining in her head than it tended to be on the outside. She ran her hand through her hair and then dropped it to her side with a slight sigh.
Her eyes ran down his face and then stopped on the sword that he carried on his belt, ”Katana-” The word escaped her lips with a slight giggle and Vesper felt as if she had just been transported back into her adolescence. ‘Oh Merlin, embarrassment abounds,’ Vesper thought with a slight grimace. Giggling like a school girl around Takuya was going to get her no where except into the fan-club he had already established at Hogwarts with the students. She quickly looked away, trying to hide the blush that was creeping into her cheeks from her girlish, immature giggle incident, ”I spent some time abroad in China. Of course, culturally they’re completely different than the Japanese, however, I know my way around the majority of East Asian culture.” She thought that she had control over the pinkish blush that had been in her cheeks a few moments ago, so she ventured to look over at him again, offering him a bright smile.
It was then that she realized she still had yet to find her glasses which meant that they had probably gotten trampled. She located the pile of leaves she had tripped on earlier and knelt down next to it, a few feet away from Takuya and started going through the pile. Her fingertips brushed through the leaves, searching for the plastic frames of her beloved oversized glasses. Vesper knew if she lost them, she would be out of luck for a few days. It took a very long time for them to be shipped from the eye doctor she frequented in London, ”What brings you out this afternoon?” She questioned, turning to look over her shoulder at Takuya and flashing him her grin yet again. Vesper Eton was all smiles this afternoon.
