Vivian sat in the gallery, in the Library. It looked down over the whole Library, but nobody could see you when you sat up there. And nobody ever went up there, because the books were old and out of date. The gallery was out of the way, and inconvenient, so no one went up there Vivian herself never normally went up there, because she didn't like to do school work. In fact, she hated it. Her dyslexia made it impossible and frustrating. But today she wasn't working.
It was the weekend, and there were plenty of students in the library catching up on homework. What sad little lives they lead. Vivian smiled to herself as she watched them. It was September, and it was still fairly warm. The Library was especially warm, thanks to the large windows letting sunlight flood in. And so there was a large jug of pumpkin juice sitting on a table, and students were getting drinks from it regularly. But what they didn't know was that Vivian had spiked the pumpkin juice.
She had spiked it with a special potion Theo had made her. It was alcoholic, but also had some befuddlement draft in it, which would make the students confused and, well, fun to watch. She had her own flask, filled with another potion Theo had made her; alcohol laced with felix felicis. Vivian felicis, he had called it. Vivian took another sip, and held onto the third flask. This one was filled with alcohol for Theo, because that was who she was waiting for.
She sat back and watched the students, waiting for the potion to take effect, and waited for her friend.

Vivian told Theo to meet him in the library, and saying that he was a bit apprehensive was an understatement. After their last meeting Theo wasn’t sure what to expect from the blonde. He just assumed they would both pretend that it never happened, and that they’d continue on their normal friendship path. Vivian would be emotionless, and Theo would crack jokes (both bad and good) every chance he got. But he had to admit that he was a little excited about meeting Vivian in the library because she told him she’d be trying the befuddlement draft potion, and he was invited to come watch the ‘fun.’ And how could he reject to such a request after all? He was the one responsible for all the fun in the first place.
So there he was, wandering to the library. It was a place that he rarely went, so when Vivian said she’d be waiting in the gallery he was a little confused by what she meant. They had a gallery in there? Interesting… He pushed open the doors, his eyes sweeping over the students who were all busy studying or doing other homework. It was the weekend! Didn’t they have better things to do? Obviously not. He let out a sigh, disappointed in the entire lot of them before his eyes floated upward. Ah, there she was. He smirked as his eyes found the blonde Veela and he wandered around toward the stairs that lead up there. It had taken him a few seconds to find, but soon enough he was by Vivian’s side with a smirk.
“Have I missed anything epically hilarious?” he asked with a grin before glancing down at the three flasks in her hands, his grin only widening. “And I’m assuming one of those is for me. What’s in it?”

Vivian smiled as Theo came up the stairs into the gallery, a genuine smile, which was rare.
"Don't worry, Theo," she said, lazily, looking back over the students "its only just starting to kick in. I think that one will be the first to go," she pointed to a Hufflepuff girl. "She's been drinking like it would give her a brain. Or some balls." Vivian generally disliked Hufflepuffs; they were the most boring of all the houses.
When Theo asked about the flasks, Vivian looked back to him. "Well, this," she said, waving the flask with the golden top "this is empty. I poured the whole lot into the pumpkin juice down there," she tossed the flask carelessly aside. "This," she said, holding up the silver topped flask "is something a dear friend made for me. It makes things go my way. You know how I like that, Theo," she winked, and took another swig of the golden liquid.
"And this," she held up the third and final flask, smiling wickedly "this is for you. You didn't think I'd forgotten about you now, did you?" she tossed the flask to Theo. The flask didn't contain a special potion, like the ones Theo had given her; Vivian wasn't much of a potion maker. If she tried she would be more likely to poison Theo than to give him a good time. It contained one of her special alcohol mixes. It tasted great, and was very strong.
"Don't worry, no added ingredients," she said, "just alcohol." She frowned, seeing that Theo hadn't yet taken a sip. "Drink, Theo," she said, rolling her eyes, and pushing the flask towards his face. "You can trust me." Vivian paused, frowning, then added "You can trust me. Not other people, but you can." Vivian knew enough to know that if she just proclaimed herself trustworthy, Theo would never believe it. So she needed to clarify, let him know that she knew she wasn't to be trusted, but he was a special case. Sometimes dealing with people who felt everything could be tiresome. It took a lot of explaining.

Vivian said that the show was just starting, pointing out a Hufflepuff that seemed like she would be the first to go. He grinned, watching as the girl took a large swig of the orange juice that filled the jug in the middle of the table. Vivian said that her flask was empty, and Theo's eyes widened slightly. Oh Merlin... these kids were going to be embarrassing themselves to no end. Theo couldn't wait!
"I don't know that Ravenclaw looks pretty out of it," he said with a laughing, pointing to a Ravenclaw boy who had just started looking about the room as if he'd heard someone speaking to him. But he was at a table by himself. Oh, befuddlement beverage, what a wonder you are. Vivian said that her flask was the Vivian Felicis that he had made her. It was odd because she'd called him a dear friend, but he wouldn't complain. If she was ready to move far past whatever it was happened in the corridor and potions room the better. He didn't want a repeat of any of that. She said that the third flask was indeed for him, and that he shouldn't worry, there was nothing else added.
He grinned, happily taking the flask from her. She said he could trust her, and he nodded. It was only seconds before she revised her statement to say that he could trust her, but that other people couldn't (obviously, look at the orange juice on the table!). He nodded with a grin before taking a sip of the drink. It was pretty decent, and his grin widened.
"Of course I can trust you. If I couldn't then I'd have to hurt you," he waggled his eyebrows at her with a cheesy grin before turning his eyes back to the floor below. The Ravenclaw who had been looking around wildly had calmed down for the time being, but Vivian had called it. The Hufflepuff girl was now looking around bewildered, and it was only seconds before she began shouting. The students around her looked at her as if she was crazy and she frowned at them, muttering something and shaking her head to them. She rose from the table and walked over to the bookshelf, grabbing about seven books in a row and sitting back down.
'What do you need those for' someone at the table muttered, and the Hufflepuff looked at the stack of books in slight horror, unaware of what was happening to her. Oh, how fun it was to see minds being tortured.
"Oh this is going to be excellent," Theo said with a devious grin as his eyes narrowed, wondering who the next victim would be.

Vivian giggled as Theo joked about hurting her if he couldn't trust her. "You couldn't hurt me, Theo," she said absent mindedly. She could have meant that Theo would be unable to bring himself to hurt her, or that she wouldn't let him; it was unclear, and she didn't clarify. Vivian often forgot that people would read into things like that. Although Theo generally didn't That was one of the reasons Vivian was able to be friends with him. She didn't have to change herself or act too much to keep him happy. With a lot of people, if she spent too much time with them they got freaked out. That didn't happen with Theo, which was why he was one of her only real friends.
Vivian leaned back in her chair, and ran a hand through her hair, flipping it over the opposite shoulder. Vivian liked playing with her hair, and if she had been 'normal' it would have been a sort of comfort thing. Maybe it was a comfort thing, but she just didn't feel the comfort. At least not consciously.
She smiled to herself as the Hufflepuff began to act strangely. "Brilliant," she said, quietly, watching. The Hufflepuff was looking at the books she had brought over, frowning, as though she couldn't work out why. "Oh, look!" Vivian said, pointing at a Gryffindor who had just tripped over a chair and face planted the ground. But she had spoken slightly too loudly, and some people looked up. She ducked, grabbing Theo and dragging him down with her.
They crouched behind the wall of the gallery. Vivian was giggling, with a hand over her mouth to try and stifle the noise. She was leaning slightly against Theo as she tried to control her laughter; it was just too funny. She was sure after a minute or so it would be safe to reappear.
Vivian took another sip of her drink, looking at Theo. Outwardly, she had forgotten all about the incident in the dungeons. She was back to her old self, and that had been a relief. What she had felt in the dungeons had been awful. But Vivian couldn't help but think about it more than she would have liked. It had been confusing, and made her question herself and her past.
Ever since the night in the Dungeons, Vivian had been having nightmares. Not every night, and not terribly bad ones, but Vivian's sleep was usually dreamless. It was off-putting, and she was loosing sleep. In the nightmares she was terrified, but when she woke the feelings vanished quickly. She was just left with the memory. The memory of a feeling you had a moment ago, a feeling you could no longer comprehend, was a strange thing. It hadn't been obvious to anyone that Vivian had been losing out on sleep; she still looked the same, which was to say, beautiful. Her Veela genes had blessed her with perfect skin, and that hadn't changed. It was only around her eyes that you could see where the lack of sleep had taken its toll. And no one really looked Vivian in the eyes.
She didn't know why, but she had taken to carrying around a photo of herself from when she was a little girl. It was from before she could remember; in the picture she must have been about five years old. She had always kept it, never really knowing why. She carried it around now because it had started to feel both more like a secret, and like the piece of some puzzle. She just kept it in her bag, rather than leave it in the dorms. The Vivian in the photo was full of life, and laughter. She was completely different to the Vivian everyone knew now.
Vivian had been frowning slightly as she thought all this, and had taken a few more sips of her drink. She was starting to feel the effects now. She looked at Theo, with an odd look on her face, before saying "I think its safe now." She stood up, looking back down over the students to find she was right; no one was looking up. But a few looked beyond confused. She sat back in her chair, crossing her long legs and getting comfortable.

Vivian said that Theo couldn’t hurt her, and he wasn’t sure which way she meant it, and inwardly he felt slightly offended. He could absolutely hurt her! He was physically stronger, and undoubtedly better with a wand. How dare she insinuate such things! Still, a smirk was all that crossed his face as his eyes continued to eye the students below.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say,” he muttered with a small laugh. His eyes spotted a Slytherin student who was freely knocking books off the shelves, and for a moment Theo wasn’t sure if it was the potion or intentional. No matter, he grinned at the girl and allowed her to continue before his eyes found the Gryffindor that Vivian pointed out. Theo burst out in laughter as well, but felt himself get tugged down to the ground. Vivian placed a hand over her mouth to quiet her laughter which only made Theo laugh a little harder. Why were they hiding? It wasn’t like them laughing at other people’s idiocy made them the culprit… even though Vivian totally was. He shook his head at her, placing his finger in front of his lips to insinuate that they had to be quiet.
She seemed to be drinking her Vivian Felicis like it was water, which was both disheartening and worrisome for Theo. It either meant that the alcohol content wasn’t strong enough, or that something was bothering her. He knew her well enough not to really ask questions. If she wanted him to know something she’d tell him. Then again, if she didn’t want him to know something and he asked, she’d tell him anyway. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a sip of his own alcohol, the slight burn greeting his throat happily before Vivian said that she thought it was safe. He peered backward over his shoulder, his eyes only being able to see so much before he stood up fully. The coast was clear, and Theo grinned at her as another Ravenclaw tripped over a chair, knocking another student who had an arm full of books over.
“Children please watch out for one another and the chairs!” Madame Pince said in a hushed whisper-yell before going back to the book she was reading. How long had she been librarian anyway? Forever? Yeah, it had to be forever. He took yet another sip of his alcohol before pulling up a chair to the balcony and sitting on it.
“Glad to see you haven’t run out of that yet,” he said, gesturing to her flask of Felicis. It hadn’t been very hard to make, but judging by the way that she’d been drinking it today he supposed he should be glad there was any left.

Vivian lifted up her flask and shook it lightly as Theo mentioned it. It was more than half empty; she hadn't realised how much she had been drinking. But Vivian could handle her alcohol, so it wasn't really a problem.
"Oh, well, yeah," she said, smiling at Theo "its good stuff. And you know how much I like when things go my way. And it makes things go my way," she smiled wickedly. She wondered if her drinking the Felix-laced drink would change how Theo acted. If she wanted him to do something, would he do it? She thought that one over for a little while.
But she had definitely been drinking a lot. Now she was starting to feel a little bit past tipsy. She giggled again, and put a hand over her mouth to stifle it. "Maybe you could make me some more?" she smiled sweetly. She knew that Theo would see through the smile, and it wouldn't make him do what he wanted (but maybe the Felicis would?). She did it more as something he could laugh at, because he knew her so well. Vivian wasn't sweet. Well, maybe very, very deep down, she could, sometimes, be sweet. Vivian was a girl of many layers; those who didn't know her at all might think she was a nice, sweet girl. Those who knew her a little saw her as anything but. People who knew Vivian very, very well, could sometimes see glimpses of her good heart. But Vivian wasn't sure if there was anyone who knew her that well.
"Drink more, Theo," she said, still smiling. She wanted Theo to drink as much as she was. That, coupled with the confusion going on in the library below, would be extremely fun.
She giggled again, and this time didn't bother to stifle it. "I'm like my photo," she said, more to herself than to Theo "alcohol makes me like my photo..." as usual, she didn't clarify, she just smiled at Theo. Of course, really she was nothing like the photo. Her eyes told a whole different story.

“Oh, that I do Viv,” Theo laughed in response to Vivian saying she liked when things went her way. That was pretty much the understatement of the century. If things weren’t going Vivian’s way she was bored, and her boredom tended to produce things like… well, the things that were happening in the library, and the things that had happened in the dungeon. Theo infinitely preferred something like this over anything like that, though. Theo’s eyes flashed to her, a brow raised before he smirked at her. Vivian Blackwell? Giggling? Preposterous. She didn’t feel! Well… she clearly did, but she didn’t at the same time.
“Riiight,” he replied sarcastically knowing she didn’t mean whatever she said. Sometimes it became a little hard to realize when Vivian was and wasn’t kidding, but Theo had gotten pretty good over the years. He heard her demand for him to drink more and he raised both brows to her as if to say ‘seriously?’ He would drink on his own time and she would deal with it! Still he nodded slowly.
“Yeah yeah, alright alright,” he said heaving a fake-annoyed sigh before his eyes found the floor below them once more and he took a large swig of his drink. It seemed as if the confused students were becoming fewer and fewer, and that was no good. And just as Theo was about to say something about it, he saw a Hufflepuff girl walk directly into a bookshelf. He snickered at the sight before Vivian said that his potion made her feel like her photo… Photo?
He looked at her, his brows furrowed. “What photo?” he asked curiously. His potion made her feel something? Well, maybe not feel something but… experience… something? That was odd, but he refused to think on it too long before he waited expectantly for to explain what she was going on about.

Vivian watched as Theo raised his eyebrows, refusing to drink just because she told him to. She liked that. She had too many people who would just do whatever she wanted, just because she told them to. Sure, she could ask them in a sweet way, and maybe that was excusable. But Vivian knew, and they knew, and pretty much everyone in the school knew, that there were just too many people who would do what Vivian said just because she said it. Especially boys. Although that was probably because they were hoping to sleep with her some day. And apparently appeasing her increased those chances.
So Vivian liked when Theo didn't do as she said. Its not like she'd care, or get her feelings hurt. Her self-esteem wasn't tied up in being able to control him. It was more interesting when she was defied. And at the end of the day, Vivian usually got whatever it was she really wanted anyway. She smiled as Theo took a drink. Point proven.
The alcohol was making her giggly. Alcohol did that to most people. The booze didn't make her feel anything, but it did make her light headed, and everything seemed about a hundred times funnier. She rolled her eyes dramatically as Theo asked what photo she was talking about. "My photo, Theo," she said, and reached over for her bag. She had to really stretch to get it, and that made her giggle even more. She didn't care about showing Theo the photo. She would have done so, even if she was sober. Well, if he asked. She couldn't see any reason to just show it to him, out of the blue. But, equally, she couldn't see any reason not to.
Usually, Vivian kept her personal stuff to herself. But that was more of a power play then protecting herself emotionally (ha-ha). But with Theo, Vivian didn't need to try and have power. There was no reason to show him, and there was no reason not to. But he had asked.
She took the photo out of her bag, and handed it to Theo. It was worn, especially at the edges. The young girl was unmistakably Vivian. The long blonde hair, the perfect little features, the large green eyes. But her demeanour was very different to Vivian's. "See," Vivian said "I'm laughing." Of course, young Vivian's laughter was wholly different to the current Vivian's alcohol induced giggles. Vivian had the hardest time identifying with that little girl in the photo, and that was why the revelation that alcohol made her giggle in a similar way had been so interesting to her. Interesting enough to bring up.

Vivian repeated herself, saying ‘her photo’ if it were the most obvious thing in the world like ‘my hair’ or something. But she’d never said anything about the photo before, so it clearly wasn’t as obvious as that! His face remained to be one of confusion as he waited for her to clarify. She reached over to grab her bag, giggling all the way, and the sound of her laughter had Theo laughing, too. What was it they said? Laughter was contagious? He supposed that was true enough. It was certainly true now. She handed him the photo and he looked down at it, smiling a bit more as his eyes found tiny Vivian.
She couldn’t have been more than five years old. That meant this photo was before all that… rubbish happened to her. That meant that the Vivian in the photo was the ‘real’ Vivian of sorts. The photo was worn, showing its age, so Theo handled it delicately as he thought about the photo. The Vivian in the photo was visibly more happy and more carefree and generally excited than Vivian nowadays ever was. It was hard to imagine the Vivian he knew being anything like this little girl in the photo, but it seemed like it was a nice memory for her to have. It was also interesting that she’d started carrying it around. Or, maybe she’d done that the whole time and he just hadn’t noticed.
“You look so… happy,” he said with a laugh before handing the photo back to her. And she did. That photo was the closest thing Theo had ever seen to Vivian being truly happy, truly emotional. Well… happy emotional anyway. He’d seen plenty of sad emotional down in the Potions room that day. The memory of that day still made him slightly uncomfortable because of everything that had happened, even past her kissing him. Seeing Vivian becoming completely emotional was something he wasn’t equipped to handle, and he was thankful she was back to her old self now. He could handle that.
“I’d tell you we could swap, but unfortunately I gave my last childhood photo to a fangirl in the hallway on the way here,” Theo jested with a laugh, moving his hands to the sides as if to show that he was fresh out. He took another swig of his drink, the flask becoming lighter and lighter as he began to make his head feel foggy. A scream was emitted from the floor below them and Theo looked down to find a Ravenclaw girl shouting about some kind of spider. There was no spider. Theo grinned before letting out a laugh.

Vivian shrugged as she took her photo back. "I don't know," she said, "I don't remember when it was taken." Vivian didn't know if she was really happy or not. She could act happy, she had done it before. Maybe she was acting happy then. A photo was just a snapshot. It was one moment in time, not a real representation of what that person was like. Or what their life was like. So maybe it wasn't real at all.
Of course, this was just what Vivian told herself. Really, she knew that there was genuine emotion in the photo. She wasn't sure if she had been really happy at that time in her life, but she had felt.
Vivian knew that soon after things had gotten pretty bad, and then she had changed. She had changed into what she was now. Things couldn't have been perfect when the photo was taken. Things didn't go from perfect to horrific that quickly.
"Its funny." she said, although she said it without laughing. She put the photo back in her bag, and decided she didn't want to carry it around with her any more. There was no emotion behind the decision; she was just done.
Vivian was thoughtful as Theo joked about not being able to show her a picture of him as a child, but then she was distracted by the Ravenclaw. She laughed, and had to clap a hand over her mouth again before she got too loud. She looked back at Theo, getting her mind back on track. "I don't know anything about your childhood." she said, matter of factly. Theo never talked about it, so it was odd that he brought up a childhood photo now. "You know about mine." She took another drink from her flask, watching Theo. She didn't often focus on people other than herself.

The fact that Vivian didn’t remember when the photo was taken wasn’t surprising. Theo figured if she remembered anything about before her seventh birthday she’d probably not be in the state she was in. Ugh. State. That was the word that had caused Vivian to flip out in the dungeons. He scowled slightly at the thought, but it was for no longer than a millisecond before his eyes were on Vivian again.
“I’ll bet you were. Little kids aren’t as good at faking emotions are you are,” Theo said, genuinely meaning it. Kids, especially at around age five, spouted out everything and anything that came to mind, and they didn’t have a second though about laughing or crying. Vivian seemed to not have any thoughts at all. None that were about emotions or feelings, at least. Theo wondered what it would be like to feel no pain or hurt, to feel nothing at all. The thought gave him chills slightly. The idea of feeling nothing reminded him of death, and death was his greatest fear. He felt his heart begin to beat faster at the thought but he pushed the thoughts away as Vivian began speaking again.
He raised a brow when she said it was funny. He wasn’t really sure if she was saying her picture was funny or if it was a precursor to another thought. He waited patiently, taking another sip out of his flask. He had a rather good buzz going. The topic that the conversation went to, however, was one that killed his buzz in about half a second. Still, he kept his face emotionless as he pondered her thought. Of course she knew nothing about his childhood. No one did! Well… Daphne…
“That’s because I refuse to talk about my childhood, Viv,” he said with a smirk before drinking the last of his flask before closing the lid. “Thank you for the drink. It was delicious.” He handed her the flask before placing both of his hands behind his head. He wanted to move past the topic of his childhood as quickly as possible. He wasn’t sure if Vivian would ask questions or not. Sometimes she did and sometimes she didn’t, it all really depended on her moods. He had a feeling she’d probably ask more, so he tried to cut her off at the pass.
“All you have to know is that I had bad things happen to me, too, as a kid. Though not quite on the same level as you,” he said, trying to be as nondescript as possible. He hated talking about his childhood, and decided then and there that he would say no more about it. Nothing. It wasn’t worth the unpleasant memories. His past didn’t deserve him to think on it because most of it involved his wretched father. His ‘father’ didn’t deserve his thoughts.

Vivian was frowning as Theo said that he didn't want to talk about his childhood. The past was in the past. She didn't entirely understand. And if what Theo said was true, that what had happened to Vivian had been worse, then surely he could tell her. That was sort of how it worked, to Vivian's understanding.
She shrugged, looking away from Theo and back out over the students. "I told you about mine." she said.
Vivian didn't get the impression that Theo trusted her much. Or cared about her much. She thought sometimes that maybe Theo saw her as less of a person. She didn't miss the involuntary shudder from him when he looked at her, sometimes.
But she wasn't too good at understanding how other people felt. She wasn't very good at understanding what had happened to herself, so she probably wasn't the person others wanted to open up to.
Vivian had been quiet for a little while, watching the students in the library below. It was entertaining enough that she didn't need to talk. Or maybe she just didn't have anything to say. She heard clumsy footsteps coming up the stairs. She looked, her nose wrinkled slightly. She didn't want anyone else to come up here; partly because sometimes being with other people was tiring, and partly because it might mean that someone had figured out the pumpkin juice had been spiked.
A seventh year Ravenclaw, a boy in Theo's year who Vivian didn't know. He was tall, strong, and would normally be intelligent, but right now he looked like he had the IQ of a troll. He had clearly drank a lot of the pumpkin juice... either that or the potion had just worked really well (or really badly, from his point of view).
"Vivian Blackwell," he said, lazily, smiling at her. Vivian rolled her eyes, and sat back in her chair. She wanted him to leave, but hoped he'd just take the hint rather than her having to bother to get rid of him.
But the Ravenclaw walked right over to Vivian's chair, ignoring Theo. "Vivian," he repeated, reaching out and brushing back her hair, in what he obviously thought was a seductive manner. Vivian swatted him away, annoyed. Sometimes she liked having a little fun with a guy or two, but even if she had been in the mood, 'befuddled' wasn't her type. Either way, right now Vivian couldn't have been less in the mood. She didn't want to be touched.
The Ravenclaw frowned as he was swatted at. "'Comon," he said, getting annoyed himself "we could have some fun. What, am I not good enough for you? I know you give it up, Blackwell, everyone knows that," he grabbed her chin to make her look at him, and Vivian hit him away again, this time harder. Couldn't he take a hint? She was starting to get really irritated now. She was about to open her mouth to tell him where he could get off, but he leaned down on her, grabbing her arms and pressing her into her arm chair. He was gripping her hard, and he was close enough that she could smell his foul breath. The high sides of the arm chair meant that she couldn't see Theo, but he might have left. He wasn't hurting her, but Vivian was repulsed, and she was ready for this guy to get away from her, right now.
"Get off me," she said, quietly and coldly. He couldn't mistake her tone. If he didn't get off her, she thought, she'd start biting. Usually she'd scratch first, but her arms were incapacitated, as it was. And him touching her was making her skin crawl.

Vivian frowned at Theo’s denial to talk about what happened to him as a kid, and he did feel the slightest bit bad, but it wasn’t information that he was comfortable talking about. Not that Vivian would understand that. If he tried explaining it to her it wouldn’t really have gotten them anywhere, so he didn’t try. She’d sit there and feel bad… or something close to that for a little while and then they’d move on it was always what happened when Vivian didn’t quite understand something that had to do with normal human emotion.
It was quiet for a little while, both of them watching the students below. It was humorous enough, but nowhere near the level that had he and Vivian laughing earlier, that didn’t bother Theo though. At least the punch was still providing some kind of entertainment. If it had worn off or something to that effect the silence between he and Vivian might be a bit more awkward. But for now the silence was a comfortable one, and then there were heavy footsteps stomping up the stairs. You could tell from the way they sounded that there was hardly any effort being put into the footsteps. Why would someone be coming up here, though? There was nothing up here but dust and bugs, and well, those two. Theo turned his head in the direction of the student and recognized him as a boy in his year, but the name escaped him. He stated that he was here for Vivian in not so many words, and Theo sat there, a brow raised in slight confusion. How had he known they were up there? Odd…
Vivian said nothing to their uninvited guest, and the uninvited guest said nothing to him as he walked right past him and up to Vivian repeating her name once more. Theo didn’t like the looks of this. The guy was obviously under the influence of the potion. A lot of it. Theo’s brow remained raised in confusion as the guy began talking about Vivian and what they could do together. The boy’s words brought a slight smirk to Theo’s face, but the boy’s next move had Theo tensing, his eyes narrowing. He placed his flask down silently as he waited to see what Vivian would do. He seemed unmoving in his actions and when Vivian said ‘get off me’ and the boy refused to move is when Theo knew he had to step in. His eyes narrowed as he stood up pushing his chair back and grabbing the boy by the collar. He yanked him backwards and threw him towards the stairs that he’d stomped up, and the boy let out an “oi!” as his eyes narrowed as they found Theo. He looked at him as if he’d just realized he was there. Actually, it was likely that that was the truth.
“Oh what, am I stepping in on your territory, Nott?” the Ravenclaw boy spat and Theo let out a laugh before rolling his eyes and shaking his head.
“Not at all,” he said, pausing as the Ravenclaw boy took his wand out. “But you are making an ass out of yourself..."
“What’s your issue, Nott? Move out of my way so I can get what I want!” the Ravenclaw’s voice was raised now, his wand pointed at Theo. Theo simply smirked at the boy. He was persistent for a Ravenclaw he had to give him that at the very least. “I’ll hex you, I will!”
“You won’t get a chance. Say another word and I’ll send you down those stairs,” Theo replied, waving his hand toward the stairs that the boy had come from. The boy opened his mouth and Theo’s wand was out like lightning.
“Everte statum!” he shouted and a burst flew from his wand, throwing the Ravenclaw boy backward down the stairs with several loud thuds. Theo grinned at his success before turning back to Vivian.
“Sorry about that,” he placed his wand back in his pocket before looking at Vivian once more. “You okay?”

Vivian was glad when Theo pulled the Ravenclaw off of her. Her befuddlement potion idea had backfired in a big way. That had not been fun. Not even interesting. Ravencalws were downright boring. He must have heard them laughing, or talking. Vivian had gotten distracted talking to Theo, and they hadn't been as careful as they should have been. Still, it could have been worse. It could have been Madam Pince, and maybe she would have put two and two together. That would lead to them being in trouble. Vivian didn't care about getting in trouble, but she hated detention. Vivian was pleased that Theo hadn't left, because she hadn't relished the thought of biting the Ravenclaw one bit. He probably would have tasted just awful.
She smiled as Theo sent him flying down the stairs with a spell. He looked funny, flying backwards, and the thuds were satisfying. "Well, really!" Vivian heard Madam Pince say. She was speaking at a normal level, which was practically shouting for her. But then her voice returned to a whisper. "I don't know what has gotten into all of you."
Vivian sat back in her chair; she had been leaning forward to watch the Ravenclaw falling down the staircase. Again, Theo apologised for something that hadn't been his fault. He was silly like that. "Yes, Theo," she said, humouring him, because she felt that it was obvious she was ok "I'm fine."
She ran a hand through her hair, and got comfortable in her chair. "Thanks," she added, as an afterthought. Theo liked it when she tried to be polite.
Vivian thought for a moment about what the Ravenclaw had said to her. "Everyone thinks I'm a slut." she said, after a little while. "You do. I don't know why." Vivian kissed boys sometimes, but even that didn't happen nearly as regularly as it did for some girls. She had had sex once, because she had felt like it. What was wrong with that?
The thing with Vivian was that while she would sometimes feel like having sex, and when she felt like doing something she would do it, she almost always got bored, or lost interest, or the feeling just left. And sometimes the thought of a boy touching her was repulsive, in which case she avoided any and all contact.
She didn't care what anyone thought about her. She didn't care about anything, unless it directly affected her. But right now, with the Ravenclaw, it had affected her, and so she was asking. With Theo, when Vivian didn't understand something, she just asked. Well, more like she just stated what was on her mind. Theo would know it was because she just didn't get it.
